Siwu, a crafty and obviously a very talented software developer, has just released his first release of DWMaxx.   DWMaxx attempts to work around and use undocumented features of the Vista Desktop Windows Manager, allowing a programmer to manipulate the 3D accelerated desktop.

Though 3D transforms are not operational just yet in the library, Siwu has shown in earlier attempts, that it is possible.  Soon, maybe the Compiz/XGL zealots can quiet down about their more "advanced" desktop and take notice that Vista's potential in this area is the same or greater.

I hope that with the release of Windows 7,  Microsoft will officially open up the DWM.  Or even better, eventually give us the ability with Vista.
