It was a difficult decision to make, but I have made the jump over to freelance. I have had a wonderful experience with my last employer over the last few years, but going out on my own is something I've had an itch to do for more than a while. I will miss my old peeps, but being a telecommuter, they will not be any further than they were last week... an instant message away. :) So what exactly am I doing? Well for one, I think "freelance" is a bad way to represent my situation. I have some extremely gifted partners that started a software business many moons ago. They have made great strides in their goals since, so I'm joining them in a capacity I could not have done before. For two, I'm continuing on with my love of multimedia, WPF and .NET. Is this blog going to be a big advert for your biz? Ha! That'd be annoying, huh? Are you still going to be blogging and contributing mad-crazy-ish to the community? Yes! Probably even more so. I really want to thank the readers of this blog for being supportive. If it wasn't for you, this wouldn't be any fun. -Jer

Re: Goodbye? Hello? Yes!
Hi, Jer I believe that you made the right decision, because I just made the same one. And I want spend my time to build a media center project which I've thinking about for a long time.
It will be a smart home solution in the end, and a media center will be a part of it. I once thought I can re-use MediaPortal, but their code is hard to read and they are also struggling at V2.
I noticed the WPF MediaKit project from there, and I'm thinking why not write a new media center with this. I hope you can give me some advice.
Thanks, and Good Luck LongkerDandy
